Forest Hill is a lovely area and we have short term parking outside for our customers. A handbag - is generally referred to as any normal sized bag designed for a woman.

A shoulder bag - Is generally any bag which can be worn on the shoulder usually with one long strap to wear the bag.

A tote bag - the term ‘tote’ means to carry. A tote bag usually has two handles centred atop each side.

A satchel – usually has a cross body strap adding versatility to the looks you can create. A satchel usually has a flap to close over the top of the bag and usually features satchel straps.

A grab bag – looks like a tote bag but its handles are usually too small to wear the bag under the shoulder.

A clutch bag - refers to bags with no handles or straps to carry, usually an evening bag.

Interesting story in the Metro Newspaper: Your online life can go on after you die

As an online business selling ladies fashion handbags  any article relating to digital information is relevant to most people modern society. This morning Monday March 12, 2012 we found an interesting article in the Metro newspaper about what happens to our digital information after we die. We all have online accounts which store our information. The interesting thing, is what happens to this information after we pass on, have we even thought about it? The article reports that one in ten people have left their internet passwords in their will or are planning to do so. In the US, state senator John Wrightman wants to introduce a law which allows the executor (the person who sorts out your bills, money and other personal matters after you die) to access your online accounts to either close them or set them as a memorial.

The question is, do we want the executor to have this right? And who owns that information after you die, and should these online corporations have the right to keep our information even after we delete our accounts, it should be noted that even if you close your accounts you can still re-activate them later and find your information, unless you have laboriously deleted every single picture and post before leaving.

It's an interesting, thought provoking article and will surely be debated in Parliament in the future.

Finally we are announcing the winner of our competition. To enter the competition, entrants had to tell us which handbag was their favourite at Marie’s Boutique and why. Out of the 137 entries we received, we can honestly tell you, it has not been easy to decide, we had loads of lovely and creative emails.

In deciding who to chose who the winner should be, we decided to separate which entrants had put the most effort into their answers. In terms of effort we whittled it down to 8 finalists. The final winner we are pleased to announce is Lisa Tighe.

Once you have decided what type of handbag you need, the next important question for yourself is what kind of style, are you looking for a plain bag, an traditional bag such as a satchel with a modern twist or a contemporary handbag?

You will also need to consider are there any features which are important to you, for instance do you need a bag which has many zipper pockets? Alternatively, do you want a clutch bag (a bag with no handles), a shoulder bag, which usually has a long strap, or for a smarter look a bag that can be worn tightly under the shoulder with shorter straps.

The next step is to decide on colour, as with style this will usually reflect your personality. If you are unsure; black is usually the safest colour, other dark colours offer the same assurity with a bit of a difference and if you have the personality for a bright red bag, go for it.
